Humanity Pays Off

It was just another day. After a very hectic workload in the company, I was very much tired. At that time there were mobiles but not with common people. The Internet had started its influence and was capturing human beings like the British had captured India in history. Being an engineer, now I think you waste half of your youth life just thinking of job search, job change over, and its frustration. Unknowingly I started my journey on the same path.  Having tired though, I went to café… no..no not café coffee day. I went to an internet cafe to search and apply for jobs. This had become my daily routine to go to a cyber café and search for a job.  One fortunate day, I got a call for an interview. It was in some area in Pimpri Chinchwad. I was needed to go by city bus. As usual, I lied to my boss and got leave for health reasons. I went for the interview and it was good. But they told me that they will inform me results in one or two days. I was hopeful. With lots of th...

Sacrifice

Human life is incomplete without sacrifice. But if we have no other option than to sacrifice something is not actually a sacrifice. It is called helplessness. It has an altogether different system. Also, sacrifice is always to give something and not taking out the life of anybody or anything. When we have lots of options by which we can possess more than what we have or there is no need to donate something to somebody but still if we sacrifice or donate for someone’s betterment is actually a sacrifice.  As human beings, we live in society. So it is our duty to donate what society needed. This donation can be small or big but it should be as per society’s requirement.   Donation by pure heart gives the best result in terms of real happiness and inner peace.  Suppose you are walking on the road with a vegan sandwich in hand. And you see a very poor small orphan boy, very hungry crying for food, ask you the sandwich. You already had food. But you have taken ...

Self Constraint

Every action has a reaction. This law of physics was well-known from ancient times. In manufacturing to control defects, we use process controls. In the same way, to control defective reactions, we need to control our own actions which means we need to self-constraint ourselves. I had heard one example somewhere.  Suppose a man came home after working hard throughout the day. He is very much hungry. Now after coming home if he gets lots of food, suppose lots of pizzas are ready for him.  Looking at the ready pizza, he will feel happy as he loves to eat pizzas. Now when he eats one pizza, he is very happy.  But still, he is a little hungry.  Now he eats second pizza. Again he is very happy. As he loves pizzas, he could not resist eating one more pizza.  Now his stomach is almost full.  As his wife asks him to eat one more, he eats again one more pizza but while eating the same pizza, he is not feeling now happy.   When his wife asks him...

The purity of thought

Everything in the world in its purest form becomes its best form. The water when achieves its purest form becomes the sweetest in the taste. When air is in its purest form it becomes the freshest air. The same thing happens with our minds as well. If you remove all your possessiveness from the mind, the mind works most beautifully. If your thoughts are pure, you become the best person.  Bhagwan Mahaveer, Lord Ram left everything and become God. Lord Jesus left this world on the cross and it became the symbol of Christians.  Lord Gautam Buddha also left his extra luxurious life as a king and became a saint. When your soul starts its purification, material possessiveness goes away from the soul.  There was a rich person living in a palace. He was a miser, would not spend a single penny extra, or would not help anybody. Once there was a flood in the town. His palace got immersed in water. He was on the top of the palace.  A man with a boat came and as...

Hardships are good!

The doorbell was ringing continuously. I opened the door with anger. But looking at a teenage boy, I was calm.  He said very politely, “Sir, your neighbor, Aunty, has sent me to collect clothes from you. I am a laundryman.”   I replied “Ok, what’s your name? Where is your shop?”  I just asked out of curiosity. He answered, "Just in front of grocery shop near your home. And my name is Avinash. People call me Avi.”  I remembered the laundry board on his shop ‘Avi’s laundry’ while going for the office.  I said, “Ok. But how much you charge?”  He replied, “Give whatever you want! From others, I charge, 5bucks each.”  I gave him some clothes and said, "Listen, I will take back clothes while coming back from the office.”  He left.  It was the morning shift these days. During the morning shift, I used to come back by 3 pm. I got ready fast and left for the office. After office, during coming back, suddenly, I heard “Sir, your clothe...

Under fair words, beware of fraud - Part 3- Fraud Revealed

For Part 1, click here For Part 2, click here Now, management decided to verify the situation by doing an audit of the regional office by a very senior lawyer of the company.   After the audit, the lawyer confirmed to management, "Yes, there is fraud and shreds of evidence are pointing towards Mr. Rao. But I cannot know everything in an audit."     Top management asked him to register a police complaint. As per that, he registered a police complaint and left to head office.  Now it was instructed to all that Rao sir will not be allowed to enter in office until police verification is done. But even after this, management had the opinion that it might be a trap by some of us. Hence, we all were under scanner.   On the other hand, Rao sir was telling all, that management only did this trap because he resigned.   After reporting a complaint in the police station, police immediately started their work. First, they came to the office an...

Under fair words, beware of fraud - Part 2 - Fraud, suspects and beliefs

For Part 1 click here A year passed. I was busy with routine work. One day, Suyash (from the accounts department) asked me about few consignments, for which, one client was not at all giving any response for payment and the due date was already over.   He further said, "From Head office, there is inquiry coming up for payments. But Rao sir is not clarifying the matter with clients."  I told him to wait for few more days.              Again after few weeks, he said, “ See, I asked about the said consignments of clients to Rao sir. But he is now telling us that these consignments are not normal. They were sample batches for a specific trial. The payment will be done by clients but it may take few more days. What do you know about this sample consignment.”  I told him, "I am completely unaware of any such requirement from clients.”     Now, both of us were having doubts in mind. But we were not sure. S...

Under fair words, beware of fraud - Part 1 - Fair words

I was giving my statement at the police station. The police constable started typing in the local language. I was very nervous at that time.  As soon as I started speaking, my inner mind was already reached in past.  It was my first day in the company. It was a marketing company and was supplying goods from regional stores to distributors and other clients.  We had a warehouse and an office attached. We hardly were ten people in the office.  Rao K. V., a very young, dynamic, and very friendly in nature, was manager of the regional office. I entered the office and was welcomed by him with a very gentle smile on his face. He was very polite and talkative in nature. He inquired about my family and wished me the best of luck. I was in heaven because getting a friendly boss normally happens only in dreams. I was feeling so lucky because you win half of the war during joining a new company if you get a good boss. He had kept the office atmosphere very pleasant....

A lie never lives to be old.

We were three roommates living in one small bungalow in Pune, India. Normally Pune people are known for very skeptical and inquisitive and are called Punekar. Our house owner was one of such Punekar. Before this house, I was living with my cousin, Param, in another house. But they were already 4 people when I joined and it was a crowd in the home there.  Param had one friend staying in one bungalow with roommates named Ankit and Rohan.  Param asked Varun about me and he said yes. So finally I shifted with them.                    Initially, Ankit came first in that bungalow and Varun joined him. The owner as told earlier was very skeptical and inquisitive. He asked for all details of their parents, their college details, course details, college id’s, etc. All were submitted as per his requirement. He wanted only vegetarian students as he was Brahmin. He had put one more condition that only two guys were allowed to live. Th...

"A thief is a thief, whether he steals a cucumber or a diamond .”

Theft is a big profession in the world. From small level servants to big level people, can work under this profession. They earn a lot of tax-free money. I met lots of thieves in a different stages of my life. To take any object without the knowledge of the owner of the object is a theft. Every thief has his own reasons to do a theft.   I  was a child when I met a thief who used to take away children. That day, I was with my Aunt. We went to the dentist for some dental work. After that, we went to a medical shop. As I remember, I was just standing outside of the shop. My aunt was in the shop. A woman having one small child in hand came to me. She said “Come, I will give you chocolate” and she held my hand and started pulling me with her. I was so dumb that I had started walking with her silently. My aunt came back from the shop and to her surprise, I was not there on road. When she saw both sides of the road, she noticed that I was going with a lady wi...

Truth is stranger than fiction.

My boss, Anant, was of mid-thirty. He was a good guy and a jolly person. We were three in the office.  Myself Karan, working as a trainee engineer. And an assistant named Vaibhav. Whatever work was there, we used to distribute and do the work. But many times, we used to go to customer or vendor sites; there would be nobody in the office. So, Anant decided to have a receptionist for the office. He explained to us, “She will handle office documents and call management.” He told me to give an advertisement in a local newspaper in Pune. I and Vaibhav immediately completed the job. Boys will be boys. Both of us were very happy with the idea that one girl would be there with us for the next few days in the office.  Finally, the day of interviews came and one by one girls started entering for interviews. Anant had selected few girls for the interview. Vaibhav and I, both were so excited that we told Anant that there is no appointment with any customer as well as vendor. W...

Everybody is a God soul

Every life on this earth is having its own journey. Everybody is very indistinct and independent in this universe. Everybody is a God soul in its purest form. We need to understand ourselves. I learned this theorem of Jainism in my life many times.  When I look back in 2004_05, I had started my job in a very small company. The pay scale was very less. I used to manage somehow rent and food. Most of the fresher start career with this condition only. How come I would be an exception?  It was the last day of the month. I used to get a salary on the 1st, of every month. Somehow that day I had only 10 rupees in my pocket. In this, I was required to manage a full day. So I decided to do fasting. I avoided tea, breakfast, and lunch as well. After company hours, I came back into the room. In my room, we used to live with two people. My roommate was from a very poor family. We normally used to have food in a hotel and then come to the room. We used to come to the room very ...
