Self Constraint

Every action has a reaction. This law of physics was well-known from ancient times. In manufacturing to control defects, we use process controls. In the same way, to control defective reactions, we need to control our own actions which means we need to self-constraint ourselves. I had heard one example somewhere.  Suppose a man came home after working hard throughout the day. He is very much hungry. Now after coming home if he gets lots of food, suppose lots of pizzas are ready for him.  Looking at the ready pizza, he will feel happy as he loves to eat pizzas. Now when he eats one pizza, he is very happy.  But still, he is a little hungry.  Now he eats second pizza. Again he is very happy. As he loves pizzas, he could not resist eating one more pizza.  Now his stomach is almost full.  As his wife asks him to eat one more, he eats again one more pizza but while eating the same pizza, he is not feeling now happy.   When his wife asks him to eat one more pizza, now rather than

The purity of thought

Everything in the world in its purest form becomes its best form. The water when achieves its purest form becomes the sweetest in the taste. When air is in its purest form it becomes the freshest air. The same thing happens with our minds as well. If you remove all your possessiveness from the mind, the mind works most beautifully. If your thoughts are pure, you become the best person.  Bhagwan Mahaveer, Lord Ram left everything and become God. Lord Jesus left this world on the cross and it became the symbol of Christians.  Lord Gautam Buddha also left his extra luxurious life as a king and became a saint. When your soul starts its purification, material possessiveness goes away from the soul.  There was a rich person living in a palace. He was a miser, would not spend a single penny extra, or would not help anybody. Once there was a flood in the town. His palace got immersed in water. He was on the top of the palace.  A man with a boat came and asked him to come in. He s

The Truth

There are many sayings on truth. Truth is something if we know it, false cannot hide itself. But if the truth is unknown, false hide everything and become king itself. There is always debate that whether saying truth is always correct or in some situations saying truth is wrong.  One example I always heard from saints. This story was told to me by a Jain monk. There was a saint. He was sitting under a tree. On the tree, one hummingbird was sitting on a branch. A hunter came there searching for the bird. But looking at the hunter, the bird immediately came and sat on the palm of the saint.  It said to the saint, “Hey saint! God has sent me to you. He said that you are a godman. If I tell you my problem you will save me. Please save me from that hunter. You cover your palm with another palm so that I will not be visible to the hunter. But if he asks you, don’t tell him that I am here.”  The saint had taken an oath that he would never tell lie in his life. He covered his palm
