The purity of thought

Everything in the world in its purest form becomes its best form. The water when achieves its purest form becomes the sweetest in the taste. When air is in its purest form it becomes the freshest air. The same thing happens with our minds as well. If you remove all your possessiveness from the mind, the mind works most beautifully. If your thoughts are pure, you become the best person.  Bhagwan Mahaveer, Lord Ram left everything and become God. Lord Jesus left this world on the cross and it became the symbol of Christians.  Lord Gautam Buddha also left his extra luxurious life as a king and became a saint. When your soul starts its purification, material possessiveness goes away from the soul.  There was a rich person living in a palace. He was a miser, would not spend a single penny extra, or would not help anybody. Once there was a flood in the town. His palace got immersed in water. He was on the top of the palace.  A man with a boat came and as...

The Truth

There are many sayings on truth. Truth is something if we know it, false cannot hide itself. But if the truth is unknown, false hide everything and become king itself. There is always debate that whether saying truth is always correct or in some situations saying truth is wrong.  One example I always heard from saints. This story was told to me by a Jain monk. There was a saint. He was sitting under a tree. On the tree, one hummingbird was sitting on a branch. A hunter came there searching for the bird. But looking at the hunter, the bird immediately came and sat on the palm of the saint.  It said to the saint, “Hey saint! God has sent me to you. He said that you are a godman. If I tell you my problem you will save me. Please save me from that hunter. You cover your palm with another palm so that I will not be visible to the hunter. But if he asks you, don’t tell him that I am here.”  The saint had taken an oath that he would never tell lie in his life. He cov...

Hardships are good!

The doorbell was ringing continuously. I opened the door with anger. But looking at a teenage boy, I was calm.  He said very politely, “Sir, your neighbor, Aunty, has sent me to collect clothes from you. I am a laundryman.”   I replied “Ok, what’s your name? Where is your shop?”  I just asked out of curiosity. He answered, "Just in front of grocery shop near your home. And my name is Avinash. People call me Avi.”  I remembered the laundry board on his shop ‘Avi’s laundry’ while going for the office.  I said, “Ok. But how much you charge?”  He replied, “Give whatever you want! From others, I charge, 5bucks each.”  I gave him some clothes and said, "Listen, I will take back clothes while coming back from the office.”  He left.  It was the morning shift these days. During the morning shift, I used to come back by 3 pm. I got ready fast and left for the office. After office, during coming back, suddenly, I heard “Sir, your clothe...

A lie never lives to be old.

We were three roommates living in one small bungalow in Pune, India. Normally Pune people are known for very skeptical and inquisitive and are called Punekar. Our house owner was one of such Punekar. Before this house, I was living with my cousin, Param, in another house. But they were already 4 people when I joined and it was a crowd in the home there.  Param had one friend staying in one bungalow with roommates named Ankit and Rohan.  Param asked Varun about me and he said yes. So finally I shifted with them.                    Initially, Ankit came first in that bungalow and Varun joined him. The owner as told earlier was very skeptical and inquisitive. He asked for all details of their parents, their college details, course details, college id’s, etc. All were submitted as per his requirement. He wanted only vegetarian students as he was Brahmin. He had put one more condition that only two guys were allowed to live. Th...
