My first year of college was in full swing. Today, I simply accept that I was dumb at that time. One of our lecturers entered the classroom. "Do you want to know who will be your class's representative?" he inquired.
"Yes,"
all of the students responded.
"So let's
pick the most likely individual who can be your CR," he remarked.
"You all
stand up," he ordered.
As all the
students were standing in the classroom, he said, "So now, the
students who scored less than 80% in the maths group can sit down."
Some students
sat quietly.
After that, he
said, "All students who scored 85% in the maths group can sit down."
Many of the
students had taken a seat.
Now we were a
few students standing in the classroom.
Everyone was as
intrigued as I was.
Everyone was
staring at us.
Actually, our
class had students who scored below 90% in the maths group.
He then invited
students who scored 86 percent, 87 percent, and
88 percent to sit down one by one.
After 88
percent, there were just two people left in the class, including me.
Finally, he
asked both of us for our scores. So the other student was eventually asked to
sit down.
"Most
likely, you will be the class's CR," he said to me. "Congratulations."
He was correct.
The next day, the list was presented on the board, and I was named the Class
CR.
Suddenly,
everyone began greeting me.
There was a
notice that there would be an election for the general secretary of the student
council of the college.
I read the
notice and went to class as usual. Suddenly, two seniors entered, inquiring
about me. "Listen carefully," they urged as they escorted me out of
class.
"You must
vote for our candidate in the election so that you won't have any problems in college. And there's no need to talk to the
other panel. "
I first assumed
that they would be ragging me. I was really perplexed by what was going on.
I just answered, "OK," and attempted to enter the classroom. But they
stopped me and said, "We cannot take any chances. You'll
be with us all day today and tomorrow. "
I was worried
since they were seniors, and I still didn't understand why they were acting
this way.
One of them
also dropped me off at my house and said he'd be back tomorrow morning.
Then, much
earlier in the morning, he said, "Good Morning! Come on, let's go."
"Good
morning!" I said, "There's still time to go to college. Is it
okay if I finish my breakfast? Will you have anything, sir? "
"There's
no need for breakfast," he added. "We have made all the necessary
arrangements. QaDon't be concerned. We will look after you. "
I had no choice
but to accompany him.
He took me to a
restaurant. We ate breakfast there.
He then led me
to his room. I was really stressed since I had no idea why he had brought
me to his room.
He said,
"Don’t worry. Be comfortable. You must remain in this room just today till
the voting time. "
"What?"
I asked. "I have a class to attend."
"You do
not need to attend the class today," he remarked. "We brought you
here so that the other panel's representative could not contact you."
I was literally
abducted so that I would not be able to meet the other GS applicant.
There were no
cell phones at the time. I spent some time in his room reading various books.
He returned
with a lunch box during lunchtime. We shared his lunch box. Then again, he went
back locking me in the room.
He returned in
the evening and drove me to college. His squad had totally
encircled me, making it impossible for the other panel members to interact with
me.
Finally, the
election procedure began in the conference room, and I was freed from their
custody.
They pushed me
into the conference room.
I voted for his
panel's nominee since I had no idea who the other guy was.
They thanked me
now.
As a result of
this, I was absolutely free of ragging throughout the college.
Too good 👍
