THE RAIN, BUT NO RAIN

When I used to work a full day and come late at night from the office after working more than 12 hours a day, I was always out of energy.  My friend Sunny was my roommate. He was also always late. We were staying in a single room with one old bed. The room was on the ground floor, and the owner's residence was on the first floor.

Sometimes owner's residence above or below your residence is equal to a headache. They keep an eye on you like a CCTV camera. It is not that we used to do something which we were required to hide from the owner.

But too much attention sometimes irritates. Anyways, we got used to this behavior.

On one fine day, the owner had a dream; maybe, he decided to renovate his home. He called up an architect and finalized the map. We both were completely unaware of the situation.

The next day, the work started. They started removing old tiles. Then they just spread water there.

We both were at our respective offices. We were completely unaware that there was an adventure planned by our owner for us.

We came back from the office. But to our surprise, there was raining inside our room. The slab leaked water. All over the room, there was water like it was raining. We immediately called up the owner and asked him about it. He said sorry for the problem, but there was no solution. He gave us a plastic to keep on things. But it was not enough. Then sunny and I went out and bought a big Polyethylene cloth. We tied that cloth below the roof of the room. Somehow, this solved the problem temporarily.

We slept with the thought that there would be no issue now in the night.

But all of a sudden, a little flow of water started from one place, and some sprinkling drops came on our faces. We got awake and immediately ran to place a water bucket below it. That day we did this adventure to stop raining in our room.

In the early morning, the owner came down and gave a smile. We both were in anger but bachelors who get a room on rent, need to behave neatly, otherwise, search for another room.  It was hard to get another room so fast. So we decided to manage somehow.

We spent almost a week with this condition till their construction got completed.

Every day, it was raining for us but there was no rain outside.

Today, whenever we meet, we laugh at this incident and our innocence.

Humanity Pays Off

It was just another day. After a very hectic workload in the company, I was very much tired. At that time there were mobiles but not with common people. The Internet had started its influence and was capturing human beings like the British had captured India in history. Being an engineer, now I think you waste half of your youth life just thinking of job search, job change over, and its frustration. Unknowingly I started my journey on the same path.  Having tired though, I went to café… no..no not café coffee day. I went to an internet cafe to search and apply for jobs. This had become my daily routine to go to a cyber café and search for a job.  One fortunate day, I got a call for an interview. It was in some area in Pimpri Chinchwad. I was needed to go by city bus. As usual, I lied to my boss and got leave for health reasons. I went for the interview and it was good. But they told me that they will inform me results in one or two days. I was hopeful. With lots of th...

A Cunning Soul

Once upon a time, there was a jungle. A deer couple lived in the jungle. It had two kids.  However, one was a fawn and the other was a fox cub. The event occurred in such a way that this fox was orphaned only during its birth. So it was raised solely by the dear pair.  These kids were now adults, and the deer had fawns and the fox had fox cubs.  They were staying together. Playing together, exploring the jungle together.  They believed they were all members of the same animal species.  In one incident, lions killed all the fathers of the family.  Only the grandmother deer, the fox mother, the deer mother, and all the fawns & cubs remained in the family.  Tiger believed that, given the current situation, he could easily capture the family's young fawns & cubs. But looking at the mother’s aggressiveness, the tiger went back. He got afraid of them. But now he decided that he should break the family first. Then he plotted a wolf to support the fox ...

Sacrifice

Human life is incomplete without sacrifice. But if we have no other option than to sacrifice something is not actually a sacrifice. It is called helplessness. It has an altogether different system. Also, sacrifice is always to give something and not taking out the life of anybody or anything. When we have lots of options by which we can possess more than what we have or there is no need to donate something to somebody but still if we sacrifice or donate for someone’s betterment is actually a sacrifice.  As human beings, we live in society. So it is our duty to donate what society needed. This donation can be small or big but it should be as per society’s requirement.   Donation by pure heart gives the best result in terms of real happiness and inner peace.  Suppose you are walking on the road with a vegan sandwich in hand. And you see a very poor small orphan boy, very hungry crying for food, ask you the sandwich. You already had food. But you have taken ...
